Budgie 10.6.3 is the third minor release in the 10.6 series of our Budgie Desktop environment, introducing improvements to our Workspace Applet and initial support for GNOME 43!
These changes are backported from our in-progress 10.7 series, which will feature major upgrades to Budgie Menu, our internal theming, and more. This development process allows us to focus longer-term on features and larger overhauls while still being able to address issues raised on our issue tracker in a timely manner.
Workspace Applet Improvements
Budgie 10.6.3 introduces support for setting the item size multiplier in the Workspace Applet, providing users more flexibility on the size of the applet and how many desired items appear for each Workspace at once.
GNOME 43 Support
Budgie 10.6.3 introduces our initial support for the upcoming GNOME 43 stack with support for the Mutter 11 API. This support unblocks inclusion of Budgie Desktop in Fedora rawhide and makes it easier for maintainers across a wide range of operating systems to deliver Budgie without needing to do the manual work of backporting patches.
